Meet Dr. Rock

Dr. Rock specializes in pain management, physical rehabilitation, and sports medicine utilizing a multidisciplinary approach to treat patients suffering with painful conditions and functional deficits. He has extensive training and experience in physical rehabilitation, interventional pain management, and sports medicine. He is fellowship trained in interventional pain management and sports medicine and is double board certified. He treats both acute and chronic conditions. Acute conditions include injuries sustained from motor vehicle accidents, workers compensation injuries, and athletic injuries. Chronic conditions include degenerative processes of extremity joints and spine, migraine headaches, nerve and facial pain, rheumatoid arthritis related pain, cancer pain, abdominal and pelvic pain, and post-surgery pain syndrome.

Dr. Rock utilizes both interventional and non-interventional techniques and incorporates multiple different treatment modalities including medication management, physical therapy, chiropractic therapy, acupuncture therapy, massage therapy, pain and sports psychology, orthotics, minimally invasive procedures and advanced interventional pain procedures including- joint and spine injections, nerve ablations, spinal cord stimulation, interspinous fixation, sacroiliac fusions, regenerative medicine procedures, and stem cell injections. He always attempts to start with the most conservative therapies whenever possible.

Dr. Rock believes in a team approach to helping patients with their condition with the patient being the most important team member. He applies a team approach to help patients suffering from pain and immobility who may be considering orthopedic joint replacements, spinal surgeries, or other invasive procedures.  He extends great effort to understand the cause of the patient’s pain and functional deficits in order to make the best recommendation and provide the best solution, often working with the patient’s primary care physician and other specialists in order to achieve the best possible outcome and avoid unnecessary treatments and surgeries.

Dr. Rock began using regenerative medicine techniques during his residency training and has trained directly with many team physicians for college and professional level athletic teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates. He previously served as a team physician for the Glendale Raptors. He often incorporates regenerative medicine techniques, including platelet rich plasma and stem cell therapy, into the patients overall treatment when it is appropriate. He was one of the first physicians to use regenerative medicine techniques treating Denver Broncos football players. Dr. Rock has more recently trained in aesthetic medicine incorporating some of these same regenerative medicine techniques.
Dr. Rock graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical School, initially trained in family medicine at University of Nebraska and University of Colorado affiliated programs. He later went on to complete training at the State University of New York and University of Pittsburgh Medical Center affiliated programs where he finished his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation. He then went on to complete an interventional pain and sports medicine fellowship at Alabama Orthopedic Spine and Sports Medicine Associates Fellowship Program. He has been practicing in Denver, Colorado since 2009.
